The short answer

Cowork itself costs nothing extra.

Claude Cowork is included on every paid Claude plan. There is no separate Cowork subscription to buy. For a team, the sensible entry point is Claude Team at about $25 per seat per month, which bundles Claude chat, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork with central admin.

The budget question that actually matters is not the license, it is the rollout: which data Cowork may touch, which two or three workflows you start with, and whether anyone trains your staff. Done professionally, that is a one-time flat fee, and it is the difference between saved hours and shelfware.

Plan by plan

Which Claude plan gets you Cowork?

All paid plans include it. The difference is admin and controls, not the agent.

What a real team rollout costs

Licenses (team of 10 on Claude Team)

~$250/mo

About $25 per seat. Nonprofit discounts can lower this.

Wellforce implementation, standard

$2,500–$9,500 flat

One-time. Design, setup, connectors, Skills library, training, AI policy. Scales with seats.

Wellforce implementation, legal

From $3,500 flat

Adds SSO, role-based access, audit logs, retention controls, and BAA help.

Managed Claude (optional)

Monthly, priced by seats

Usage and cost reports, access reviews, quarterly tune-ups. Most teams add it later, not day one.

Every Wellforce band above is published in full on our pricing page. If you want the setup done for you, Claude consulting covers design through training in about two weeks.

Questions

Claude Cowork pricing, answered

Is Claude Cowork free?
There is no free tier for Cowork, but there is also no separate Cowork license. It is included on every paid Claude plan. If your team already pays for Claude, Cowork costs you nothing extra to turn on.
How much is Claude Cowork for a small team?
For most small teams the license cost is Claude Team at about $25 per seat per month, which includes Claude chat, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork. A 10-person team pays roughly $250 a month in licenses. The real budget line is the rollout: deciding data rules, connecting tools, and training people, which is a one-time project.
Do we need Claude Enterprise?
Only if you need its controls: single sign-on, audit logs, custom roles, spend limits, or a HIPAA agreement. Law firms and healthcare-adjacent organizations usually do. A typical nonprofit or growing business does fine on Claude Team, and we will tell you which one fits on a 30-minute call.
What does professional Claude Cowork implementation cost?
Wellforce charges a one-time flat fee of $2,500 to $9,500 depending on seats and controls (legal deployments start at $3,500). That covers plan selection, setup, two or three connected tools, a starter prompt and Skills library you keep, two hands-on training sessions, and a one-page AI use policy. Live in about two weeks. All bands are published on our pricing page.
Are there nonprofit discounts?
Yes, twice over. Anthropic offers nonprofit pricing on Claude plans, and Wellforce offers nonprofit pricing on implementation. If you are a 501(c)(3), say so on the intro call and we will price both accordingly.
What usually surprises teams about the cost?
That licenses are the small line. The expensive version of Claude Cowork is the one nobody uses: seats paid for twelve months while staff quietly keep doing things the old way. Training and simple rules are what turn the subscription into actual saved hours, which is why our flat fee spends most of its effort there.
