Claude Cowork is not free.
Claude Cowork is not available on the Claude Free plan. It is included with Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise, with no separate Cowork license or add-on. For one person, Pro is the lowest-cost entry at $20 per month in the United States.
For an organization, Team Standard is $25 per seat when billed monthly or $20 per seat per month when billed annually. Anthropic requires at least two Team members. Cowork has no separate license, but that does not make every task or rollout free.
Usage beyond the included limit
Cowork is agentic and can use more tokens than a normal chat. Pro, Max, and Team users can buy usage credits after included limits.
Enterprise usage
Current self-serve Enterprise pricing is a seat fee plus usage billed at API rates, so the task mix affects the final bill.
Team implementation
Licenses turn the feature on. A safe rollout may also need data rules, connector setup, workflow design, and hands-on staff training.
